Student Kaleb Barrett introduced the following bill, which was referred to the committee on September 18, 2007.
A BILL
To establish a law that limits the weight of homework that students have to carry home.
- Be it enacted by the Students
- in the Eight Grade History
- Class at Wicomico Day School
- in Salisbury, that
- the weight of homework will be limited to
- three (3) pounds and
- the homework should be eliminated until it weighs less than the limit.
- Whereas, the students will have less to carry and have less back problems.
- Whereas, the students will have less homework to do and are less stressed.
- Whereas, the students will have more time to rest.
- Whereas, the students will have better focus and pay more attention.
- Whereas, the students will have more time for extracurricular activities and time
- to volunteer in the community.
- Whereas, the teachers have less papers to check.
- Whereas, the effect will be more eco-friendly; less paper used/ thrown away.
- All laws or parts of laws in conflict
- herewith are hereby repealed to the
- extent of the conflict.
- If any portion of this act is declared
- unconstitutional, it is the intention
- of this legislature that the other
- portions shall remain in full force
- and effect.

9. And have football as the national sport.
10. Whereas, football is the most watched sport

12. Is the most talked about sport in the United States of America.
13. Whereas, football also has the biggest championship game.
14. Whereas, the enjoyment of sports
15. Enhances people’s lives.
16. Be it therefore resolved that
17. The government of the
18. United States declare football
19. As the national sport.

To establish a law of all levels of government and education to inshore that at least every child in school should have 1hr of exercise a day.

2. A child should have 1hr of exercise a day
3. to prevent being weak, and death.
4. Every child in the U.S. should have exercise for its health,
5. which could lead to good behavior, and
6. create a better quality of life from childhood

- Whereas, people of the United
- States need a break from all of
- the high prices that stores
- put out every day.
- Whereas, kids could afford to get
- things for their parents, and vice versa.
- Whereas, people could afford to buy
- supplies that they couldn’t get before.
- Whereas, it will prevent stealing.
